Dr. Robert Joslin has a Ph.D. in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. He is also a graduate of the Naval Justice School-Senior Officer Course, Newport, Rhode Island.
After serving in the Marine Corps for 30 years and achieving the rank of Colonel, he joined the Federal Aviation Administration as the Chief Scientist and Technical Advisor for Flight Deck Technology involved in the development and certification of the latest aviation technology. He is a Fellow in the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), Associate Fellow for the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP), Full Member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI), Member of the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society (HFES), and a designated Federal Aviation Safety Officer with over 60 manuscripts published in a variety of aviation journals. Dr. Joslin is currently an Associate Professor in the College of Aeronautics, Department of Graduate Studies-Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide. He holds aircraft “type” ratings in the A-320, B-787, B-737, BE-200, BV-107, CE-680,DA-2(Easy), EMB-500,GVI, G-V, N-265, SA-227, SK-61, S-70, and is a certified flight instructor(CFI, CFII, MEI) with category ratings in airplane single engine and multiengine land and sea, helicopter, gliders and powered lift. He served as a test pilot in jets, props, helos, and tilt-rotors with the Marine Corps and the FAA, and is also a qualified Pilot for the RQ-12A "Wasp" and RQ-20 "Puma" Unmanned Aircraft
